Warranty Policy

ScooterMate Warranty Policy

Product Warranty
Every ScooterMate product is backed by a limited warranty of up to 12 months, depending on the part. If your product experiences a manufacturing issue within the warranty period, we’ll help resolve it with either repairs or replacement parts.

In cases where a return to our workshop is needed, customers are expected to either deliver the product themselves or cover the shipping costs. Items must be properly packaged for the courier — we suggest holding onto the original box, as improperly packed items may be refused or damaged in transit. Unfortunately, we can’t be held responsible for any damage caused during shipping.

Our warranty covers manufacturing defects only and does not apply to general wear and tear or damage caused by improper use.

Warranty Coverage Details
Here’s what’s included under warranty and for how long:

Motor – Covered for 12 months

Main wiring/cable system – 12 months

Battery – 6 months (for charging or performance issues)

Controller – 6 months

Throttle – 6 months (unless externally damaged)

This warranty covers the cost of replacement parts and labour for eligible issues under normal use.

Making a Warranty Claim
If you need support under warranty, please contact our customer service team at info@scootermate.uk. Provide a detailed description of the issue along with photos or video evidence, and we’ll assist you with the next steps.

Inspecting Your Delivery
As soon as your item arrives, please check it for any issues. If your scooter or bike is visibly damaged, incomplete, or incorrect, you must let us know within 48 hours of delivery. Claims made after the product has been used may not be accepted for cosmetic or physical faults.

Exclusions from Warranty
Certain scenarios and types of damage are not covered under our warranty, including:

Modifications or upgrades using third-party parts

Damage caused by crashes, misuse, or vandalism

Use of the product for racing or commercial rentals

Water or weather-related damage

Changes made to internal settings without approval

Natural disasters or acts of God

Wear and tear from regular use

Continued use after damage occurs

Examples of Non-Covered Wear & Tear
Some components naturally degrade over time. These include, but aren’t limited to:

Tyres, brake pads, cables, tubes, grips, chains, gears, bearings, and other moving parts. These items are expected to require maintenance and replacement through normal usage and are not covered under warranty.

What Can Void Your Warranty?
Your warranty will no longer apply if:

The product is serviced or disassembled by anyone not authorised by us

Damage results from stunts, reckless riding, or accidents

You use non-original spare parts or accessories

The product is used on unsuitable terrain

You rent, lease, or transfer ownership of the scooter or bike

You fail to follow proper maintenance as described in the user manual

All warranty decisions are at ScooterMate’s sole discretion, and we reserve the right to decline service for products that do not meet the warranty conditions.
